Discovering Your New Year’s Resolution

For The Curious,

I’ve often read that New Year’s resolutions are hard to achieve. There is even scientific research which tells us that only 10 percent of resolutions are actually accomplished.

Rather than think up some big new changes for 2020, I decided to leverage what I learned last year from Big Questions.

This week’s podcast is a group of takeaways from the last year that I want to move forward on.  Many of the takeaways apply to all of us, so everyone can get something positive from this episode.

You can listen to it by clicking right here.

It’s got advice from many people including:

  • Simon Sinek, the author of Start With Why.

  • Amy Morin, the author of The 13 Things Mentally Strong People Don’t Do.

  • Larry King, the broadcaster who celebrated his 86th birthday after overcoming severe medical problems during the last year.

  • As well as many others.

By the end of the episode, I found myself in an unexpected place. And I encourage you to try a similar exercise.

Write out three to five lessons you learned last year and see if there are any patterns. You might be as surprised by the result as I was.

Have a healthy, blessed and prosperous New Year.

Cheers,

Cal
